Week Two

This week has been amazing! Riding this week was quite the adventure.  Tuesday was a blue bird day and we rode in the park for a few laps and had a great time. Then Thursday the whole crew went up to Parsenn which is the biggest mountain in the region! Me and two others got a little lost and ended up taking 45 minutes from summit to base (approx 8km) and we were not going slow. We found a ton of fun little jumps and took some pretty silly videos I'm sure you will see eventually!
Aside from the  riding we received some amazing teaching. The pastors from Bethel Church in Redding California, Eric and Candace Johnson, were our speakers for the week. Their teaching was phenomenal and as students we learned so much. My mind was blown multiple times this week in many different ways. We learned about core life principles like: We are the child of a good Dad (obviously that is God although my earthly Dad is pretty great! ), God is a good teacher that always prepares us for a test, and lastly that we are always moving from glory to glory. These may seem confusing, but it was all completely unpacked to us throughout the week. We also had the priveledge of being prophesied over on the last day! Prophecy always blows my mind and God revealed some interesting and even hilarious things to me that I am so excited to discover! Something else that I have been noticing is how much my hunger for quiet time with God is growing. At the beginning of dts on our first full class day we had about  40 minutes for quiet time to worship, read, or pray just on our own. I remember thinking to myself " how am I ever going to fill this time?!" But as the days went on and God started revealing Himself more and more I continually wanted more time! We now have an hour for quiet time and it still isn't enough! So as I write all of this I am still processing all that I have learned and all that God has spoken to me!

This coming week is the World Economic Forum (WEF) which is held in Davos. In its simplist term the WEF is a meeting of kings and queens, presidents, diplomats, and anyone else who is rich enough to join their "club"! They meet to discuss how to better the state of the world through economics and business. This year they are focusing on a search for "truth" which I find is quite interesting. So during this week we could use lots of prayer! We will be doing some street ministry and going around town looking to be a blessing and bring joy to everyone we meet! I am slightly excited and slightly nervous because I have quickly found out street ministry is a lot different in person than it is in a Pastor's story on a Sunday morning. It is eye opening and an interesting challenge that allows me to grow in my ability to hear God and to build up boldness too!

It has been snowing solid for the past 24 hours so that made riding today quite the adventure. Imagine skiing or snowboarding during a snowstorm, except you are riding directly in the cloud the storm is coming from! That's what riding was like today. But never fear, the forecast tomorrow is called for a blue bird day which means powder riding for sunrise and then off to the park for the later afternoon to make new friends and live out what we are learning about in our lectures and all that God is teaching us too.

I am so thankful for everyone's  support and prayer! Miss you all!

Nick
